Burnt Summer Sex
Yes, yes, we are all waiting for summer to come. Higher temperatures, shorts, skirts, dresses, swimsuits, and flip-flops. The heat and the sound of the sea bring the scent of summer romance and vacation sex. The brain starts to shut down slowly in the heat, with only the amygdala remaining active, constantly searching for bare skin that has been hidden under clothing for eight months. It seems the ideal season for butterflies in the stomach and wet area between the legs, but every year it seems to me that the last one is triggered more by the sweat as a result of high temperatures, and not the desire for sex.
The heat outside causes me an irresistible desire to lie in bed, aided by a fan, which pleasantly dries the sweat on my skin. Many of you are wondering in which century I was stuck with a fan and whether I had never heard of air conditioning. I have, but the air conditioner clears the brain too much, and summer heat siestas quickly turn into winter in the bedroom, especially for someone who is three-quarters of a year cold.
If we take the air-conditioner out of the picture for a moment and move into a trailer, tent, or apartment that is promised a cooling device in the coming years, how do you deal with the annoying serotonin activated by the sun and, consequently, with the desire for sex? Fucking pheromones hiding in sweat, what the hell am I supposed to do with you? Summer sex is hard to resist, although I find it increasingly difficult to tolerate the heat. Sex feels like a long, hot workout that raises my body temperature and the temperature of the room, and the bed is drowning in sweat drops after just a few minutes.
Bodies glide more easily one after another in the summer, and best of all, this action always promises a long shower for two, and then endless lying in bed or roasting on the beach. The latter reduces melatonin levels, so it is no wonder that hot summer days also turn into nights that are temperature-reduced but sexually charged and intense. In the past, I have successfully taken advantage of every temperature drop that brings easier breathing during sex.
However, we are facing higher summer temperatures each year, and my body is no longer in its teenage years, when the heat was something I persistently asked for. Although I still live a fairy tale in sex, despite the high temperatures, more often than ever in the past, I am faced with the question of whether I even want to have sex or not. I was thirty-four years old when I realized that this is not a rare problem, as the reduced libido in the summer months is, although our bodies are flooded with serotonin and lacking melatonin, the body's response to the heat. During the summer months, we are more likely to experience fatigue and low energy levels.
If vacation still means sex for me even today, for many couples, it is not vacation. Many individuals do not feel the desire to have sex during their vacation, as the head is occupied by holiday arrangements, reservations, change of environment, and often the proximity of children. The same can happen due to the increased number of social events that can be a prelude to a steamy night, at least in an ideal world. Nevertheless, some events and an excessive number of them are overwhelming and can kill that quiet whisper of desire for sex.
All the expectations that summer brings can also have a very negative impact on us. Some also associate summer with an increase in anxiety, depression, or despondency, because we do not meet the expectations we have had for the summer, even before the first rays of the sun start to show from the clouds.
All those who are facing the above problems and who have not yet been sunburned or have a bladder flare are advised by sexologists to drink enough water, turn the air conditioning on, or sit together under a light fan breeze, find open, hidden spaces, or uninhabited beaches. With air conditioning, if you're like me, you may lose that genuine feeling of summer, but you'll avoid any heat-related health problems. If you are vacationing in Croatia or other tourist destinations, rather than doing it in the open, consider using air conditioning or a fan and indulge in the comfort of chilled sheets. Suppose a little bit of winter temperature does not bother you. In that case, a lower temperature will allow the amygdala to work even more wildly than outside. Advice that I will follow myself during the vacation.
