Platforms and social networks have, want to or not, became a part of most people's lives. During work, in our free time, over coffee, at home, we type and scan the contents. Sex permeated the pores of the Internet. You used to use a magnifying glass to look for pornographic movies to release the tension between your legs; today, such and other forms of pornographic material are available everywhere. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tumblr<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Tumblr<\/a> was the first platform to flourish during my teenage years. You can share anything you want on it. Well, at least that's how it was then. As they say for themselves, Tumblr<\/a> is a mix of social network and blog, combining short and longer posts. As if Twitter<\/a> and WordPress got married. Over time, Tumblr has become a haven for sex bloggers and porn creators, boosting Tumblr's value. In 2013, it was sold to Yahoo for a record 1,1 billion dollars<\/strong>. Then, in 2018, they burned their fingers by introducing a ban on adult content<\/strong>. The change was announced a month after their app disappeared from the App Store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were also forced to take this step by the new FOSTA<\/strong> (Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act)<\/a> act, which made internet platforms responsible for publishing their users' posts related to prostitution. Although Tumblr<\/a> has never disclosed the reasons for their decision, it is reasonably safe to conclude that all of the above reasons are to blame. Nevertheless, they still advocated positive content about sex, conversations about relationships, sexuality, and personal growth. Unfortunately, those words were empty - they switched to automated content verification. As a result, many accounts were deleted, not just those for which the ban was intended. Users have been left without the shelter of their communities and, as such, much more vulnerable. So they started looking for other platforms. In 2018, Tumblr was thus allegedly sold for less than ten million<\/strong> dollars<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only Fans<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Even before the decline of Tumblr<\/a>, the popularity of another platform - Only Fans<\/a> - began to grow. As its name suggests, the platform is mainly offering paid content that you can subscribe to. It was founded in 2016 by two brothers as an internet site where users can share photos and videos with their subscribers. Although the content is also shared by personal trainers, musicians, chefs, and other creators, the platform is known for its sexual content. When the owner of the MyFreeCams<\/strong> platform became Only Fans' director in 2018, \"NSFW<\/strong>\" became its synonym.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, it is known that the platform has changed the way we look at sex. It is also advocated by some feminists, as women have finally become the owners of their bodies. Interestingly, more explicit does not necessarily mean higher earnings. It's enough that creators post often enough, whether they cover up more than they reveal or post nude photos or videos. The Only Fans<\/a> platform did not advertise prostitution; everything was in the hands of creators who managed to earn nice sums with their content. It has become a more open and more lucrative form of Instagram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago, news spread that Only Fans<\/a> decided to prohibit sexual content, just like Tumblr. The ban will take effect on October 1 due to pressure from two financial giants, Mastercard and Visa<\/strong>. As you can imagine, sex workers were not happy as Only Fans<\/a> was their shelter and lifeguard during the pandemic. They worry that sexual content will become part of the dark underground once again, and they will be left without earnings. In the past, the platform was attractive to them as they charged lower fees, and most of the money wandered into the creators' pockets. It looks like that with Only Fans<\/a> platform will happen the same as we have seen with Tumblr - a slow but guaranteed collapse. Only the semi-open Reddit<\/strong> forum platform will remain above water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

OMG Yes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Although the site is the complete opposite of the two platforms mentioned above, we cannot ignore that this one also focuses on women's pleasure. However, they are educating their users who also pay a subscription. The site's popularity skyrocketed when it was publicly supported by Emma Watson<\/a>. Although for educational purposes, this platform<\/a> also publishes very vivid videos of women's masturbation, their techniques, and methods. In addition, they offer sex education, professionals lectures, and share advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

#TooSexyForTumblr<\/strong> is becoming #TooSexyForInstagram<\/strong> and will become #TooSexyForOnlyFans<\/strong>. All that will survive on the Internet is education, while other platforms will sooner or later suffer a sad fate.
